Gluta velutina flowers and tiny fruit in the Berau river, Tg Redeb, East Kalimantan. Although this tree is common in the Berau river we did not find any examples of the trees or fruits on Pualu Maratua  which is around 30 km offshore opposite the entrance to the Berau river indicating that Gluta velutina fruit do not survive for long in sea water.
